The SPAR River Paddle Challenge takes place on the Swartkops River in Port Elizabeth.
Participants can choose between singles, doubles, triples and stand-up paddling events that cater for age-groups from U12 to 65-plus.
The races take place at high tide on a lapped course, which is set up in the river estuary.
The event generates funds for the Zwartkops Conservancy, an environment organisation that focuses on maintaining a healthy ecosystem that supports the fauna and flora in the Swartkops River.
The Paddle Challenge also ties in with SPAR EC’s STOP Plastic campaign.
